Resolution to approve agreement between Snyder & Associates and City of Monticello Reference 6th Street Ditch planning
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City Council has determined it appropriate to take preliminary steps to identify the current condition of the 6th Street Ditch, a waterway/stream recognized by the Army Corps of Engineers, come up with proposed repair/maintenance options, potential easements locations and sizes, and a potential list of options to discuss with property owners of the land over which the 6th Street ditch flows, and
WHEREAS, Snyder & Associates prepared a study of the 6th Street Ditch in July, 2006 and can utilize much of that data at this time, verifying the continuing accuracy of said data and coming up with proposed easements and rough cost estimates, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that without updated information from the City Engineer, with recommended repairs/upgrades and easement locations that the City will not be in a position to intelligently communicate with the various impacted property owners.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 18th day of August 2014, that the proposed “Standard Professional Services Agreement” between the City of Monticello and Snyder & Associates is hereby approved.
