IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 15-50
Resolution to approve the purchase of Traffic Control devices
and equipment from General Traffic Controls, Inc.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it appropriate to improve the traffic controls located at three intersections within the City limits of the City of Monticello, said upgrades to include the abandonment of the loop detection systems and the installation of video camera detection systems and LED lights amongst other related improvements, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has also determined it appropriate to purchase the necessary equipment and services from General Traffic Controls, Inc. in the amount of $51,682, and
WHEREAS, the City Council also finds it appropriate to hire REM Electric to assist General Traffic Controls, Inc. with the installation, noting that REM has submitted an oral estimate in the amount of $4,000 with the understanding that same is an estimate based upon the requirements of the job as explained to REM by General Traffic Controls, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the hiring of General Traffic Controls, Inc. to supply and oversee the installation of those materials set forth in the attached 2015 Traffic Signal Upgrade Quotation in the amount of $51,682 with the understanding that REM Electric will be hired to assist with the installation at the estimated cost of $4,000, for a total estimated project cost in the amount of $55,682
