IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #15-64
Resolution re-naming City of Monticello street “Camino Real”, as set out within the Merrinoll Park Second and Third additions, to “El Camino Real”
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has been advised and has determined that the street commonly known as “El Camino Real” was actually named “Camino Real” within the Merrinoll Park Second and Third Additions, and
WHEREAS, The Plat of Merrinoll Park Second Addition was recorded on January 10, 1967 in Book D, Page 46, records of the Jones County, Iowa Recorder and the Plat of Merrinoll Park Third Addition was recorded on May 21, 1970 in Book E, Page 3, records of the Jones County, Iowa Recorder, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the property owners living along Camino Real support the name change from “Camino Real” to “El Camino Real” and that the name change will conform to the name actually used by the residents living on said street, and that the official name change is therefore appropriate and in the best interests of the City, and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Iowa Code §354.26 the City Clerk shall file this Resolution with the Jones County Recorder, Jones County Auditor, and Jones County Assessor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby officially change the street name of “Camino Real”, as originally set out in the Final Plat of Merrinoll Park Second Addition and Merrinoll Park Third Addition, to “El Camino Real”, and requests that the Jones County Auditor, Recorder, and Assessor take those steps to recognize this change as required of them by Iowa Code §354.26
