RESOLUTION #2026-123
Authorizing the City of Monticello to Commit up to
$50,000 for the Empower Rural Iowa Housing Grant
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello, Iowa is an incorporated city within Jones County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, The Empower Rural Iowa Housing Grant (part of the Rural Innovation Grant program) provides funding for creative, non-traditional solutions to increase and improve housing stock in rural Iowa communities. Administered by the Center for Rural Revitalization under the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA); and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello, Iowa believes this grant and the resulting project will have significant positive environmental, social and fiscal impacts; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Monticello have expressed their desire for more innovative housing opportunities.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby agree and commit to match up to $50,000 of secured funds, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, for an Empower Rural Iowa Housing Grant, contingent upon the award of said grant.
