RESOLUTION # 2026-122
Acknowledging the purchase of new furniture for
the Monticello Library’s teen corner
WHEREAS, The Library received a monetary gift from the Carnegie Corporation in December 2025 that the Library Board is using to update furniture needs in the library, and
WHEREAS, The Monticello Library Board has approved the purchase of a new table and modular couch for the teen corner using $5,608.90 from the Carnegie Corporation gift, and
WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that the Library Board is vested with the power to make purchases with donations received and that the purpose of the Council approval of this Resolution is to acknowledge the purchase and to ensure it is included in a future budget amendment.
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the recommendation of the Library Director and the Board to purchase of a new table and modular couch for the teen corner using $5,608.90 from the Carnegie Corporation gift should be approved.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby acknowledge the purchase of a new table and modular couch for the teen corner, as noted herein.
