Special Council Work Session
March 23, 2026, 6:00 P.M.

Mayor Jake Ellwood called the meeting to order. Council present were: Josh Brenneman, Candy Langerman, Scott Brighton, Ben Duehr and Mary Phelan. Also, present were City Administrator Russell Farnum, City Clerk Sally Hinrichsen, Library Director Faith Brehm and Ambulance Director Lori Lynch. Council member Dave Goedken was absent.
Brighton moved to approve the agenda, Brenneman seconded. Roll call was unanimous.
Director of Jones County Tourism Association Kaileen Weaver gave a presentation on Jones County Tourism and requested funding for fiscal year 2027. Monticello Main Street President Quinn Behrends, Director Brian Wolken and Board Member Deb Bowman gave a presentation and requested funding for fiscal year 2027.
Council discussed staff wages and salaries for fiscal year 2027. Farnum reviewed a proposed 3-year agreement for wages for staff. Farnum reviewed some other options and questions from the last work session, related to wages and benefits. No action was taken.
Langerman moved to adjourn at 7:14 P.M.
