IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 16-09
Resolution to approve Digital Sign Repairs / Upgrades
WHEREAS, the City Council has been presented with a proposal to upgrade the sign cabinet portion of the Digital Sign with LED lighting, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the sign lighting needs to be replaced, at a minimum, as it is not currently lit, and that it is appropriate to consider the upgrading of the lighting to an LED lighting system at this time, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that payback on the LED upgrade investment would be less than four years and that the City would also be able to seek an Alliant Grant rebate related to the LED upgrade, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the City invested over $100,000 in the sign when it was installed, that the sign should be maintained, and that it makes financial sense to upgrade the lighting from fluorescent to LED lighting at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the Repairs / Upgrades to the Digital Sign, to include the replacement of existing fluorescent lighting with LED lighting at a cost of not to exceed $3,400 by NESPER Sign Company, Dubuque, Iowa.
