RESOLUTION #2026-117
Approving purchase of a Kawasaki Mule ProFX 1000
WHEREAS, the Park & Rec Department is seeking to purchase utility vehicle to the replace Polaris Ranger 1000 EPS V, and
WHEREAS, the Park & Rec Department utilizes the utility vehicle to assist with daily park maintenance operations. The department’s continued growth and the increasing demands associated with maintaining parks, athletic fields, trails, and recreational facilities.
WHEREAS, the Park & Rec Director has requested pricing from local equipment dealers on comparable utility vehicles, including: Polaris Ranger, Kawasaki Mule, and John Deere Gator, and
WHEREAS, Kromminga Motors has offered a trade-in value of $6,000 for the current machine (Polaris Ranger 1000 EPS) despite the engine failure. After reviewing purchase price, trade-in value, equipment specifications, and overall value, Park & Rec Director recommends purchasing the new 2026 Kawasaki Mule ProFX 1000 from Kromminga Motors for $11,500.
WHEREAS, the council finds the proposed equipment and pricing to be appropriate and, therefore, finds that the equipment as indicated and as recommended by the Park & Rec Director should be purchased.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the purchase of the 2026 Kawasaki Mule ProFX 1000 from Kromminga Motors Inc., for $11, 500 with the trade-in
