RESOLUTION #09-154
Resolution to Direct action on Electronics Recycling Program Ordinance.
WHEREAS, The Jones County Solid Waste Commission now imposes fees for the delivery of Electronics to the Transfer Station, and
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello will be assessed fees to the same extent as residents, for the delivery of electronics to the transfer station, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds it appropriate to direct staff to prepare an Ordinance setting out the process by which the City will manage the picking up, charging for, and delivery of electronics to the transfer station, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that staff should include in the first draft of the Ordinance, the following terms for consideration:
For residential pickup only, no businesses; and
Twice a year pickup, with City Wide Cleanup; and
Charging $15.00 per tag for all electronics included in the Jones County Electronic Recycling Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby direct the City Administrator to draft a proposed ordinance for introduction and consideration at the next regularly scheduled City Council meeting, same to take into account the terms and provisions as proposed above.
