The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 11-70
Approving Iowa Brownfield Redevelopment Program Community Assistance Grant between the City and the Iowa DNR.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has been working with Gene Riddle, the IDNR and the EPA in regard to the clean-up and redevelopment of the Riddle Inc. Industrial property site, and
WHEREAS, The EPA has completed the removal of contaminated waste from the property and the property is, therefore, ready for asbestos removal, according to an inspection and project design prepared by Ames Environmental, and
WHEREAS, The City has approved an agreement and awarded the contract to Environmental Management Services of Iowa for the sum of $26,500, and
WHEREAS, The IDNR has approved of the City awarding the bid on said asbestos abatement project to the low bidder, Environmental Management Services of Iowa, in the amount of $26,500, and based thereon, has agreed to pay ½ of the costs of said abatement, pursuant to a Grant Agreement, same being attached hereto, and incorporated by this reference as if set forth fully verbatim herein, and
WHEREAS, The City finds that it is in the best interests of the City to approve of said Grant Agreement with the Iowa DNR
.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the Iowa Brownfield Redevelopment Program Community Assistance Grant Agreement, and authorizes the City Administrator to execute same on behalf of the City Council.
