The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 12-10__
Authorizing City Administrator to order materials necessary to complete IDOT Vertical Infrastructure Project at the Monticello Airport and to seek competitive quotations related to their installation.
WHEREAS, The City previously applied for, see Resolution #11-67, and received an Iowa DOT Vertical Infrastructure Grant in the amount of $65,999, see Resolution #11-122, related to the renovation of the City of Monticello FBO building at the Monticello Airport, and
WHEREAS, The quotation process is somewhat complicated due to the fact that the contractor on the new Terminal Building will be attaching the Terminal Building roof to the FBO roof, and it may make sense to have them perform the work on the FBO building roof at the time of the installation of the Terminal Building roof, while the balance of the work on the FBO building can more easily be performed by a separate contractor, acknowledging that TRICON, and other contractors, may offer quotes on both projects, the roof project and the balance of the FBO building project, and
WHEREAS, The City may be best served financially by purchasing the materials related to the FBO building renovation direct from the supplier, thereby getting them on the way in a timely fashion, avoiding potential contractor increases or profit margins and insurance costs being added to the product costs, and ensuring that the correct products, ones that match the type and color of those being installed on the Terminal Building, are in fact ordered, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds, finds it appropriate to authorize the City Administrator to work with the supplier of materials to the Terminal Building, Commander Buildings, and the City Engineer, Carl Byers with Snyder and Associates, to see to the ordering of the materials related to the previously approved FBO building renovations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the City Administrator to work with the supplier of materials to the Terminal Building, Commander Buildings, and the City Engineer, Carl Byers with Snyder and Associates, to see to the ordering of the materials related to the previously approved FBO building renovations.
