IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-62
Resolution authorizing City Administrator to execute Asbestos Inspection and Monitoring Agreement between the City of Monticello and Evans Inspection Services, Inc. related to flood buy-out properties.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has acquired seven (7) residential properties and one (1) commercial properties as part of a FEMA supported flood buy out of properties in the Kitty Creek corridor along Locust, Washington, and Grand Street in Monticello, and intends to finalize the purchase of two additional commercial properties in the coming month, and
WHEREAS, With the assistance of ECICOG, a competitive bidding process was undertaken to obtain bids related to Asbestos Inspection and Monitoring services, and
WHEREAS, The low bidder was Evans Inspection Service, Inc., located in rural Monticello, IA, with bids for the residential and commercial projects in the amounts of $1,785 and $3,570 (after the deletion of one property that did not need to be inspected do to no structure being located on the lot), and
WHEREAS, The City Council has previously authorized the City Administrator to execute documents necessary to see to the completion of the buy-out process as necessary, and
WHEREAS, The City has paid Evans Inspection Service, Inc. consistent with the bids, as amended, and has approved of those payments by the Council’s approval of previous bill lists in which the various invoices were included, and
WHEREAS, This Resolution shall act as further clarification of the approval of the acceptance and agreement of Evans Inspection Service, Inc. bids and subsequent agreement, and the authority of the City Administrator to execute same on behalf of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize and direct the City Administrator to execute the Asbestos Inspection and Monitoring Agreement between the City of Monticello and Evans Inspection Services, Inc. related to flood buy-out properties.
