The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-30
Resolution to approve contribution to Library related to
Bas Relief lighting improvements.
WHEREAS, the Library Board has concluded that lighting of the historic BAS Relief artwork located in the Library was not installed in such a manner as to display the artwork, and
WHEREAS, the Library Board has obtained quotations to modify existing lighting and/or to add lighting in such a way as to greatly improve the presentation of the BAS relief, and
WHEREAS, the Library Board has requested that the City Council provide funding for one-half of the anticipated costs of said lighting upgrade/improvement, with the total cost of approximately $1,400, one half being $700, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the existing lighting of the BAS relief is not appropriate and finds that the lighting should be improved, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby move to approve contribution to the Library related to the Bas Relief lighting improvements, with caveat that the City would not share in the cost of any additional lighting or work if this lighting project did not solve the problem.
