IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-57
To Approve Submission of USDA Application and acceptance of Grant
related to the Monticello Ambulance Department
Heart Monitor Replacement Project
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has previously approved of the preparation of Grant Applications related to the funding of the proposed purchase of two new heart monitors for the Monticello Ambulance Service, and
WHEREAS, The City has made a request of the USDA for project funding, and
WHEREAS, A public information meeting was held on this date, May 19, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., pursuant to published notice in the Cedar Rapids Gazette on May 8, 2014, on the issue of pursuing grant funding from the USDA for purposes of Heart Monitor acquisition, at which time the proposed project was explained by the Monticello Ambulance Director and public input was invited and considered by the Council, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds, after the consideration of all comments and discussion during the Public Information Meeting, that the request for Grant Funding from the USDA is in the best interests of the City of Monticello and that the Application for said funding and the receipt of any and all grant funding for this purpose from the USDA should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council approves the Application for funding by the City of Monticello for purposes of the purchase of two new Heart Monitors for the Monticello Ambulance Service, and further approves of the receipt and/or acceptance of said grant funding should it be awarded by the USDA and authorizes and directs the City Administrator and/or the Monticello Ambulance Director to execute any and all documents associated with the grant process to facilitate the review and approval of the Application and the receipt and acceptance of funding.
