RESOLUTION #15-34
Directing City Administrator to begin negotiations with PW Director candidate Doug Boldt and scheduling a Special Council Meeting for
Tuesday April 28th at 5:30 p.m.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City Council directed the City Administrator to take steps to advertise for the position of Public Works Director, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator saw to the publication of an advertisement in the Dubuque TH and Cedar Rapids Gazette, print and on-line, the Iowa Workforce site, and the Monticello Express, with ads running from approximately April 9th to the present, with an application deadline of April 27th at 4:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, The Hiring Committee, made up of the Mayor, the City Administrator, and three Councilpersons, has interviewed one candidate to date, Doug Boldt, and found him to exceed the desired qualifications of the position and concluded that the City Administrator should take steps to begin negotiations with Mr. Boldt, and
WHEREAS, The Committee believes that if agreeable terms can be reached, and that no other candidates with equal or superior qualifications apply, that the Council should hold a Special Council meeting on April 28th at 5:30 p.m. to consider the approval of an employment agreement with Mr. Boldt.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 20th day of April, 2015, that the City Administrator is hereby directed to begin negotiations with Doug Boldt, candidate for City P.W. Director, and does hereby schedule a Special Council meeting for Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. to consider the potential approval of an employment agreement between the City of Monticello and Doug Boldt.
