Approving Monticello Fire Department to
purchase Fire Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello City Council supports upgrades to the Monticello Fire Department Fire Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), also known as bunker gear, as a priority, and
WHEREAS, the Monticello Fire Department and has applied for an Assistance to Firefighter Grant (AFG) from FEMA in the amount of $115,826.00 to upgrade the some of the department’s vital PPE. The Fire Department needs to purchase 10 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), also known as bunker gear to stay compliant with the NFPA standards, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the purchase of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), also known as bunker gear, is in the best interests of the City of Monticello and the Monticello Fire Department and should, therefore, be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the purchase of 10 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), also known as bunker gear to stay compliant with the NFPA standards.
