The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 11-151
Approving City of Monticello Application to apply for Permit to sell Beer at Roller Derby bouts at the Berndes Center between the months of
December 2011 and May, 2012, and to hold said events.
WHEREAS, The park and Recreation Board has discussed the possibility of holding Roller Derby bouts at the Berndes Center and selling beer in addition to regular concessions at said events, and
WHEREAS, The Board has determined it to be a good recreation/entertainment opportunity for the community and worth pursuing, and
WHEREAS, The Berndes Center would not be rented for the bouts, however, the Parks Dpt. would collect an entry fee at the gate and would maintain all profits from the sale of beer, pop, and other concessions, and
WHEREAS, The Board has requested that the City Council be presented with their request for permission to apply for a Beer sales permit that will allow for the sale of beer at these events, and
WHEREAS, It has been determined that additional insurance costs related to the events and the sale of beer will be in the neighborhood of $1,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the Park and Recreation Board to apply for a beer sales permit for purposes of selling beer at Roller Derby bouts between the months of December 2011 and May 2012.
