RESOLUTION #12-124
Resolution to approve proposed plantings and landscaping
in and around Aquatic Center.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, Richard Schneiter proposes to plant certain bushes and other plantings and to otherwise landscape areas in and around the Aquatic Center, and
WHEREAS, The cost of the plantings and other materials will be covered by fundraised sums and other donations with no cost to the City, and
WHEREAS, The Park and Rec. Director Tami Bartram has met with Richard Schneiter and has reviewed the proposed plantings and has given her blessing to the project, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the proposed project will provide an aesthetic benefit to the Aquatic Center, that landscaping was initially planned for the Aquatic Center but put off due to funding, and that the offer of Richard Schneiter to volunteer his time and expertise to see to the completion of this project at no cost to the City, is in the best interest of the City and the Monticello taxpayers.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 17th day of September, 2012, does hereby approve of the proposed plantings and landscaping project with the understanding that same will be completed at no cost to the City of Monticello and that Richard Schneiter will work with Park and Rec. Director Tami Bartram on the planting project.
