IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-36
Resolution to approve purchase of Dodge Charger Police Vehicle
WHEREAS, The City Council was made aware of an opportunity to receive a free propane conversion kit from Amerigas for a 2012 Dodge police vehicle, and
WHEREAS, The Police Chief has located a 2012 Dodge Charger and has presented information to the City Council in regard to said vehicle, related to features, cost, and timing of delivery, and
WHEREAS, The Council has, after a consideration of the benefits and detriments of buying a vehicle that is not sold locally, determined it appropriate to accept the offer from Amerigas and to move forward with the purchase of a 2012 Dodge Charger, and
WHEREAS, The Council acknowledges that the current year budget, FY ’13, will have to be amended to show this purchase as occurring this year, basically removing the purchase of this vehicle from the FY ’14 budget year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the purchase of a 2012 Dodge Charger as proposed by the Chief of Police, and directs the Chief to see to the installation of the propane conversion kit.
